Flexibility:
Our side sliding blast door systems are
available in many configurations to meet
your specific requirements. Having built
side sliding blast doors to the standard
Type C,E and F magazines, "Stradley"
and several custom designs we are
confident that we can fulfill you blast door
requirements.

Design:
Doors are designed using CAD and
structural engineering sotware. Door
frame structure and connection designs
are certified by an independant engineer
(if spec drawings are not supplied or
further design engineering becomes
necessary). Blast loads are calculated
using U.S. Army Corp of Engineers
supplied software to insure the loads are
correct and meet Government
requirements. Door frames are
engineered using structural steel and
cold formed memebrs per AISC and AISI
codes. While usually insignificant when
compared to the blast loads, wind loads
are calculated using your location and
building size for the most accurate
structural loading possible. We don't
make an assumption on the wind load by
using an arbitrary standard, we check
every time.

Construction:
Door components are manufactured to
the highest standards and designed to
be bolt together where possible and
allowed, avoiding costly delays due to
welding inspections and the availability of
certified welders in the field. Doors are
fully assembled, welded and coated at
our facility, ensuring a timely delivery and
installation to the job site.

Support Trolley:
Our support trolley wheels are machined
in house on CNC lathes and assembled
using taper roller and needle roller
bearings to transmit the vertical forces
imposed by the weight of the door and
the lateral forces imposed by wind,
seismic and blast loads (when wheels
are meant to restrain the door instead of
guide angle or catch). Support wheels
are supplied with grease fittings installed
on the support axles. Support trolley is
manufactured in house to ensure the best
designed trolley possible. Trolley is fully
assembled and wheel bearings are
greased prior to shipment.

Drive System:
Drive motor(s) is installed onto a
mounting plate that is adjustable for chain
tension. Drive motor has a worm gear
drive gearbox and is equipped with a
motor brake that is directly mounted to
the drive motor for the Chain drive
features an overload clutch to prevent
damage in the case of overloading.
Overload clutch is easily released,
allowing manual operation in the event of
a power failure. Drive motor is also
equipped with a manual chain fall for
operating the door in the event of a
power outage. Smaller doors are
supplied with the chain fall as standard
with the option of adding a drive motor.

Weatherstrip:
Weatherstrip is 1/8" cloth inserted epdm.
Weatherstrip meets military
specifications for durometer, UV
resistance and incidental exposure to
paint thinners. Retainer bar is fastened
by zinc coated self drilling screws every
8" for a secure seal without oil canning of
retainer bar. Retainer bar is easily
removed for replacement of
weatherstripping if it becomes
necessary. Leading edge bubble seals
alow for 4" of compression.

Electrical Controls:
Door control panels are manufactured in
house using only the highest quality UL
listed components. Door control systems
utilize electromechanical relays that are
highly resistant to electrical interference
and have no programming that can
become corrupted requiring service.
Door control systems also utilize drive
system mounted rotating limit that is
connected to the door drive chain
sprocket. This design allows the overload
clutch to slip without losing limit switch
timing. Interior door control buttons
supplied are hazardous location
approved. Door control systems can be
supplied ranging from 12VDC to
600VAC. Variable frequency drives are
available for custom tuning or varying of
door drive speed. Variable frequency
drives come with variable speed buttons
with 3 adjustable speed settings
standard, 5 speeds as an option.

Standard options:
Timer delay with safety noisemaker
and/or strobe light, safety edge with delay
and/or auto reverse, personnel door
frames and safety interlock sensors,
explosion proof drive system, air drive
operating system, hydraulic drive
operating system. Door drive motors and
control panels are fully assembled, wired
and tested at our facility prior to shipping.
